Hiking with children

Adventure is right on your doorstep. In Vålådalen, it’s not far to spectacular cliffs, winding mountain streams, waterfalls, gnarled mountain pines and secret ravines. Here you will reach magnificent places after a few kilometers.

Remember that it is not the distance that is important when taking day trips with children. Follow the child’s curiosity and explore the area you pass. Can you find any trolls?

Just a few kilometers from the mountain station is the Nipan shelter. Here you have a nice view towards Stensdalen and an exciting cliff that slopes down towards Vålån. On the way there, you cross the Vålån river via an exciting suspension bridge. At the same time, this is a perfect place to play along the riverbank.

Summit tours are fun. This applies mainly to slightly older children. At Ottfjället, you have the option of a shorter hike that takes you to a waterfall and a windbreak. Here you have the view and the adventure for the little ones. If you want to go a little further, go up to Kläppen. Here you get the top feeling and an incomparable view. For those with more energy, the eastern peak of Ottfjället is a perfect destination. 360-degree views and an adventure beyond the ordinary.

At the neighboring village of Vallbo, the tour starts up at Middagsvalen. This is a short but eventful walk that goes straight and steep up directly to the tree line. Here you will reach the view after one kilometer. You can descend less steeply via the western trail.
