In the middle of Jämtland’s magnificent mountains, at the foot of Ottfjället, lies the venerable Vålådalen Mountain Station. Since 1923, the mountain station has welcomed hikers, skiers, nature lovers and adventurers who have sought out the magnificent mountain world.
When the station was founded, the aim was simple: to give people the opportunity to experience the mountains in a safe and comfortable way. Over the years, much has changed, but the sense of mountain community and closeness to nature still remains. Generation after generation has gathered here to enjoy the fresh air, expansive views and tranquillity that only the mountains can offer.
Vålådalen also has a special place in Swedish sports history. As early as the 1930s, elite athletes began to hold their training camps here, and over the years many national teams and top athletes have sharpened their form among ski tracks and mountain trails.
Here you can go hiking, skiing, enjoy good food and drink or just settle down in front of a crackling fire after a day out in the mountains. Whatever the season, Vålådalen is a place where nature is at the center and where adventure is always waiting around the next bend.
