Simple camping trips

In Vålådalen it is easy to find nice tent sites for the shorter mountain tour. With smaller children, it is enough to walk a few kilometers before setting up camp for the night.

Often it is better to walk for a shorter time before setting up camp, and then do excursions and explorations with less packing. In the evening, the campfire, hot drinks and sleeping bag cuddles are unbeatable. If you make a fire, it is important that you find a place where this is okay.

We are happy to help you with tips for your trip. A good tip is to have good equipment but you don’t have to own it yourself. Some equipment can be rented at the mountain station. Otherwise, we cooperate with Outdoor Buddies who can provide most things for the trip.

After one or two nights in the tent, it’s always great to come back to the mountain station. There is a shower, sauna and waffle buffet, which is always at its best after a mountain tour. The trail center also serves a delicious espresso that may suit the adults in your party.

Many children have made their first camping trip here. On foot it is 3 km from the mountain station. By car, you can get all the way there. There are shelters and outhouses if you choose to stay directly on the beach. If you want a little more privacy, you can follow the shoreline in both directions until you find your oasis.

Halfway up Ottfjället there is a windbreak next to a small waterfall. You can get here by following the hiking trail up to the top of Ottfjället. The site is above the tree line and the Vålådalen panorama is tangible, at the same time the site is exposed to wind if it is very windy.
